Strength for Life: Why Strength Matters at Every Age
Strength training is often seen as optional or reserved for athletes, yet muscle and bone health are central to how we function every day. This talk explores the role of strength in supporting bone density, joint health, balance, metabolic health, and independence across the lifespan. We’ll discuss age‑related muscle loss, the impact of menopause and hormonal change, and how strength training reduces injury risk and improves confidence in movement. Designed for a varied audience, this session reframes strength as essential healthcare-not fitness culture. And importantly, Australian health guidelines show these benefits can be achieved with just two focused strength‑training sessions per week.
