How Do You Build a City on the Moon?
Building on the Moon sounds like science fiction, but it’s forcing us to rethink some very real problems here on Earth. How do humans and robots work together in dangerous environments? What happens when construction workers are no longer physically present on site? And can architecture itself become part of the communication system between people, machines, and materials?
In this talk, space architect and PhD researcher Albert Rajkumar explores the future of lunar construction through robotics, virtual reality, and architectural design... and why the technologies being developed for the Moon may reshape construction, safety, and collaboration back on Earth.
Bio
Albert Rajkumar is a PhD researcher and space architect at the University of Adelaide’s Andy Thomas Centre for Space Resources. His research explores how humans, robots, extended reality, and architectural systems can work together to construct future lunar habitats, and what these extreme environments can teach us about construction on Earth.
