Navigating family court – what to do and what not to do

Drawing on more than four decades in the family law arena, Mark will discuss how best to handle family disputes over children, money and property. He will give examples of the traps people can fall into and the consequences of those traps for the future well-being of your family. He will discuss examples from cases that have gone to court to show what happens when you enter the adversarial framework of family law, and what the likely outcomes will be in cases such as relocating children, paying maintenance and child support, and dividing relationship property. A particular emphasis will be on why the courts should give more weight to non-financial contributions such as being the primary housekeeper or carer of children.
