The Wellbeing Economy: Is it the solution?

The notion of the 'wellbeing economy' is gaining local and global traction as an approach to building sustainable planetary ecosystems. A wellbeing economy is one that is both prosperous and delivers equitable distribution of wealth, health outcomes and wellbeing, while protecting the planets' resources for future generations and other species.

The talk aims to challenge all stakeholders to engage in action that supports the drive towards a wellbeing economy.

Bio

Carmel Williams is Director of the Centre for Health in All Policies Research Translation based in SAHMRI and University of Adelaide. She has recently overseen the establishment of a division within the State Government dedicated to influencing public policy decisions to improve health and wellbeing. Carmel works extensively with the World Health Organisation and other international organisations and in the last couple of years has been granted an Associate Professorship at both University of Adelaide and University of South Australia.
