ADHD and neurodivergence: beyond the buzzwords

ADHD and neurodivergence have never been more visible in public conversation—but with visibility comes oversimplification and misunderstanding. In this talk, Professor Dave Coghill invites audiences to move beyond trends and stereotypes to explore the real science driving this rapidly evolving field.

Drawing on decades of clinical and research expertise, Professor Coghill examines what ADHD actually is, how it presents across childhood and adolescence, and why neurodivergence is far more diverse—and nuanced—than popular narratives often suggest.

From cutting‑edge research to world‑leading clinical pathways, the talk highlights how evidence can be translated into better care, stronger systems, and more supportive communities. Whether you’re new to the topic or seeking deeper insight, this session offers a grounded and accessible look at why understanding neurodivergence matters now more than ever.
