The blueprint for building cooler cities

How one organisation, built from the ground up in a short four years, empowers communities to take on extreme heatwaves in their cities.

Translating the impact of climate change into a human scale can be hard. We need to look at the hyper-local impacts for solutions. Sweltering Cities is changing the story of heatwaves in Australia to recognise that they're the deadliest environmental disaster.

Join Emma Bacon, founder of Sweltering Cities, an organisation that tackles the problems of climate change, health and inequality together.

Emma and her team campaign on issues as varied as safe housing and heatwave warnings, aiming to update planning control data to improve our climate resilience. Learn how an ambitious transformation to a sustainable Sydney is possible.
