The quest to find a cure for spinal cord injury
New Zealand has one of the highest rates of spinal cord injury in the Western world. And while for many with a spinal injury the damage has long been thought to be permanent, a team of researchers at the University of Auckland is attempting to change that. Their ambitious goal? To find a cure for spinal cord injury.
Join Dr Darren Svirskis, who is leading this pioneering team of researchers, to hear about the progress that has been made in global efforts to address spinal cord injuries and how his team is using never-before-tried treatments to limit spinal cord damage, regenerate injured tissue and restore lost function.
