Breathing plastic: Aotearoa’s invisible pollution problem
New Zealand doesn’t produce much plastic. We have a relatively small population and historically we have shipped most of our plastic waste overseas. So, you might think there wouldn’t be a whole lot of plastic waste here – right? Unfortunately, Aotearoa has more microplastics in the air than you would expect. What’s more, there is just as much airborne plastic in remote regions as in the biggest cities.
Join Dr Joel Rindelaub as he shares some insight into this perplexing conundrum, along with other findings from his research into the air we breathe every day. Come along and learn about Aotearoa’s plastic pollution problem and how to address the scary science behind it.
