Sustainability Policy:

Hastening the Transition to a Cleaner Economy

The technological, social, cultural, economic and political transition to a sustainable economy has begun. Professor Steve Cohen will discuss the critical role of government and public policy and public-private partnership in accelerating the shift to a sustainable economy. Using examples of innovative sustainability initiatives, he will explore the elements that constitute effective policy, and the factors that can help or hinder implementation and adoption. Emphasizing politically-feasible policy tools at the federal, state, and local levels, Cohen will discuss how public sector actions can spur private innovation and the use of renewable resources.
