Why are some feral animals running rampant? Should we reintroduce dingoes and Tasmanian devils to parts of Australia? Why doesn’t shark culling work? How can predators help us to fight climate change? Euan will provide answers to all of these questions and more in his talk that discuss how making peace with predators could dramatically transform our world!

Dr Euan Ritchie is a Eureka prize-winner in environmental research and Senior Lecturer in Ecology within Deakin University’s School of Life and Environmental Sciences and Centre for Integrative Ecology. He applies ecological theory with good doses of fieldwork, from arid and northern Australia to the rainforests of Papua New Guinea, to seek solutions to the challenges of conserving biodiversity. His research has a strong focus on predator-prey interactions, fire ecology and the conservation and management of mammals. He is also an active and passionate science communicator, writing and speaking regularly on conservation and environmental issues.
