There's no time to waste!
As consumers we have a responsibility for our environment and the affect we have on the spaces around us. Events and festivals have an important role to play in outdoor spaces and venues with large outputs of waste being a by-product across Australia. The diversion of waste from landfill is crucial at events, however there are significant cultural changes necessary to ensure we see a future for sustainable events. With a focus on events across Australia, this discussion will explore the Australia waste forum, the complexities of the waste industry and challenges we face as consumers.
Charlie currently works as the General Manager at Australian Green Clean, a company that specialises in environmental cleaning and waste management services for events and commercial sites. Charlie loves working for AGC where they have a mission to make sending waste to landfill a thing of the past and has actively worked with events and large scale clients including WOMADelaide, Royal Adelaide Show and the University of South Australia. With over 300 clients and managing over 400 events each year, Charlie has worked closely on growing the company and the team often work interstate due to the experience and knowledge within the waste and events industry.
